Just been to hamsterley today, loved it, fast and almost dry just the odd wet root here and there to keep you on your toes! Starting to gel with the DH bike again. I've been a bit out of practice and we've been having a few fights and arguments down tech stuff, but we seem to have patched thing up! lol

Sorry but I really don't get this drawball nonsense. I simply don't see the point of wasting any of my time trying to figure out what the hell it's about.

Last time I was at Thunton was in a long gone different millennium..! I've been meaning to go for ages because I've heard very good things about those woods from everyone I know who's been there recently. Maybe we could arrange a day up there sometime and then another day I could give you a guided tour of Chopwell's hidden gems?

Don't sweat it man I can take a joke, even if it involves my mother.I just gotta say if you get on here and start calling people f*gs and f*ckers and all that sorta thing no one will ever take you seriously.Just calm down, make your point in a reasonable way and you'll find more people agreeing with you than being annoyed with you. You'll find this works in the real world outside of Pinkbike as well.Take care buddy.

hey man, can you tell me where in my comment I said I hated DH and mentioned anything about dirt/street beings superior? You are exactly like any dirt/street junkie complaining, but just for DH. Exactly the same.... Do you go on pinkbike and just try to start internet fights?

ockman9 wrote

you need certain bearings with a soecific angel. very standerd though. i used the ones out of a £27 cane creak headset.

ockman9 wrote
Jul 17, 2009 at 13:37
mite be there on sunday. not shure yet...

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=8244

is a reducer. you press it into the frame then press (1-1/8th) just the bearins (no cups) into it. bob on

ockman9 wrote
Jul 17, 2009 at 13:14
what size. i was goin to get a king 1.5 to 1-1/8th. get a etherteen reducer then fit just the sealed caterige bearing out of a normal headset... supper solid.
but if you want 1.5 then you cant go wrong with canecreak. there standerd.

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 14:52
what you doin then. removin the clip or gettin a new shox???

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 14:46
this is a 2008 demo 8 and 7. just a diferent colour to yours plus a mag link. exectly the same but bigger shox. wich pushes the rear further away making it a higher staover, bb steeper.... thats it

compare?

no. 7.7 with tirpples would feel great. will be slack at 67degrees not 66 and low and racey. try it. i ran it for a while with a dhx4 and trippels. felt great, but had a pushed tuned dhx 5 wich happend to be a longer stroke so fitted that and feels wicked. to be fair though if i had the choice i dont mind 7.7 over 8.4 inch travel as it is more recey. it was just the shox i happend to have.

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 13:12
so a demo 7 has better racing geo as its lower and slack but if you realy want that 0.7 inch more travel go for the bigger shox. just run more sag. thats what i do....
any questions feel free to ask.

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 13:10
now if you want a demo 8 though...

put a 8.75 by 2.75 shox on. this will give 8.4 inch travel. a slightly higher bottom bracket and standover. steeper head angel by 1-degree. so EXCTLY the same geometry as a 2008 demo 8 BUT with a 1.5 head tube. (but e-thirteen do a 1.5 to 1-1/8 reducer)

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 13:07
take that of and you get 7.7 inch travel.

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 13:07
so

ockman9 wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 13:07
ok. the shock that comes is a 8.5 eye to eye by 2.5 stroke. under the rubber bottom out bung there is a plastic c clip on the shock stroke. this is a travle limiter to put the bike to 7inch travel. (http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1655397/) dont read it just look at pick.

Jamieep wrote
Jul 13, 2009 at 8:16
